We are the First River City Bassmasters and hail from extreme Southern Indiana on the Ohio River. We come from all walks of life but share one common passion and that is Bass Fishing!

Although our membership comes from many different towns and cities, we meet in New Albany, Indiana which is directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. We have been in existence since 1974 and we are affiliated with the Indiana Bass Federation.

Our main purpose in existing is to promote the sport of Bass Fishing, particularly Tournament Bass Fishing.

Our club meets the first Wednesday of each month at Sam's Restaurant on Charlestown Road in New Albany, Indiana. Although we always take care of business our meetings are also fun and informative.

Generally, we fish club tournaments March through October. These tournaments are open to First River City Club Members only. We have both boaters and non-boaters paired together in a fun and competitive environment. The pairings of the boater and non-boater partner is done by a blind draw. This provides an awesome opportunity for the non-boater to learn more about the various lakes we fish and the techniques of many different fishermen.

We also sponsor one open tournament each year where anyone who wishes to fish may enter. We use the proceeds from this tournament to fund our club activities and to enrich the lives of others as we make significant donations to various charities. We are also active in fund raising for the Indiana Bass Federation and in getting children involved in the sport.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a seasoned tournament angler with state of the art equipment or someone who does not have a boat. If you are interested in meeting like minded individuals for fishing and fun, we welcome you to come join us.

Until then Tight Lines!
