First River City Bassmasters concluded their 2009 year end on October 3rd and 4th at Rough River.   At the conclusion of two tough days of fishing on the River, Paul Jones and Natalie Lowe weighed in 17.66 lbs of fish, Dale Fess and Alex Dillion placed 2nd with 8.77 lbs and Kelly Hook weighed in 7.94 lbs took 3rd place. 

There were numerous "short fish" caught over the course of the two days but few "keepers".  Paul, First River City's tournament director didn't allow anyone to weigh in a short fish.  Therefore, considering the slot limit of 12-15 inches it was quite a chore to catch a measurable sized fish to weigh in at the end of each day.  All anglers worked hard in the cool mornings to catch the early bite.  Crank baits, jigs, spinnerbaits (which most of the bass seemed to take), were the prime tackle used.  Very few "keepers" were caught on topwater.
